The Nelson Manoeuvre
HMS Victory, October 21, 1805
by
Marii Chernev

In Celebration of the 200th Anniversary
of the
Battle of Trafalgar

HMS Victory, Horatio Lord Nelson's flagship, comes under fire from French Admiral Villeneuve’s flagship Bucentaure as she leads the British Fleet's 'Weather Column' in the unorthodox manoeuvre of splitting the combined French and Spanish Fleet in what later became known as
'The Nelson Touch'.
Nelson's victory at Trafalgar was so complete that England was never seriously challenged at sea for the next hundred years.
